Name of Orca: Apollo
Gender: Male
Age: 18
History: When Apollo was just a calf, his whole pod was on a migration up north for a fantastic meeting of orcas just off the coast of Washington State. Brutally, he and his family were captured. Some were killed, some were sent to foreign countries. Apollo and his sister, Lilia were sent to Florida.
At his previous residence, Apollo had attempted suicide after his sister died from unknown causes. He leaped out of the pool and onto the hard concrete. Badly scraped up, it took a squad of veternarians plus a hellicpopter to get him back into his tank, where new high concrete walls were put in. After his suicide attempt, the state took hold of the problem.
Apollo was brought into Journey to Atlantis as soon as the facilities were able to hold him. His previous residence had very inadequate facilities, and he had been seized by the state. He had lived in and performed in a pool the size of a hotel swimming pool, and he had to have surgery once because he swallowed a penny someone had thrown into the pool.
Now Apollo resides at Journey to Atlantis, waiting for a trainer.
Personality: Despite his past, now that he is in gentle, caring hands he is one of the sweetests orcas that a person could ever meet. He is affectionate and gentle, often used for interaction programs. Though memories still seem to haunt him, and he will have his moments where he will swim rapidly around in circles. He is not the hardest orca to handle, nor is he the easiest. He needs someone with experience to be able to handle him.
Length: 20 feet long
Markings: All along his belly and under his chin, Apollo has scars that show the story of his attempt of suicide. His dorsal fin is so tall that it flops over to the right.
